Jazlyn Dingfelder
I'm Jazlyn, and I am a half-Cuban, half-Jewish Musical Theatre Actress! (Bet ya never heard that one before!) I am originally from Georgia, but I live, now, in Michigan with my husband and two cats: Fosse & Thespis.
When I’m not performing, you can find me thrifting for 1960’s-70’s maximalist fashion, adding to my crystal collection, or doing volunteer work in war-torn countries.
After a recent hiatus to plan my wedding, move across the country, and do volunteer work in the Gaza Envelope, I have now returned, refreshed, to the theatrical scene with vigor and excitement.
Up Next: I will be a member of the “Dirty Money” Lansing Cast with The Dinner Detective Ensemble in Lansing, Michigan starting Saturday, March 8th!
Biography
Education
I started attending Theatre Young Harris in 2017 - being one of the strongest performance programs in the southeast - and added techniques, principles, and etiquette to my tool belt that has served me well in the professional world.
Being equally trained in Dance, Theatrical Performance, and Vocal Performance, Young Harris provided optimal opportunities for me to learn through hands-on experience. In my 4 years at Young Harris, I had the privilege of performing in 7 shows.
I graduated with my BFA in Musical Theatre in 2021, taking my place in the 75% employment placement rate that Young Harris boasts.
On the day of undergrad graduation, itself, I was on a plane across the country to perform in my first professional contract.
Special Skills
My additional interests and hobbies include Tang Soo Do Karate, a Hard Form of Korean martial arts. I trained for 4 years before achieving my first degree black belt.
I have also been “horsing” around (literally) for about 6 years, spending 2 of those in training for Equestrian Show Jumping. In 2021, I was able to use my “horsie girl” skills to canter onstage every night for 69 performances.
